The Flower Patch is for beginner flower gardeners who are done with vibes-based advice. Our rule: if we name a plant, we name the variety — the actual cultivar, with sowing depth, spacing, days to bloom, and an honest difficulty rating. We cover four things: growing flowers from seed and bulb, planning a cut-flower garden, the care skills (deadheading, feeding, dividing) that keep blooms coming, and cutting, conditioning, and arranging so your harvests look like a florist made them.
We also tell you which popular "beginner" flowers will fight you — sweet peas want cool starts, poppies hate transplanting, and nobody's supermarket orchid survived because of anything you did.
